He sat himself down on one of the seats outside the cafe, settling his book on the side as his eyes glanced over the menu. He ordered himself an Iris Coffee, glancing up only to see the waitress blush and scamper off when he looked at her ( Read more... )

Carrying Serenity in her arms, Joan sat directly behind the man, at a different table, of course. The kid from the counter where she'd ordered her latte brought it to her, and smiled at the baby. Serenity giggled and cooed against Joan's fingers, which she held and mouthed.

He didn't glance up from where he sat, but he did shift in his seat a little before letting out a long sigh. 'You know you could get a better look at me if you either face me or sat at the same table.'

He had sensed her the moment she had sat down, the same way he had sensed others before.

He lowered his book just enough to peer over it and look back at her. His dark eyes met we hers and there was a look of interest in them. The book was lowered further and closed before being set down on the table.

'I very much doubt that,' he noted the baby and the...oh that was interesting. She was a little bundle of not being human too. 'So if we do not know one another perhaps names are needed. I am Azazel.'
