She was still recovering from one of those days, the days that made Bill Murrays life in Ground Hog Day look like a walk in the park. A day to find out who a person was, what they did and stop them from dying after she had already lived the day out. The clinic had reached a lull in patients and James had told Greg that he was just going to go out for a short walk. Mainly just so he could see a bit more of the city, get a bit of fresh air. Not that the air was really that fresh in a place like New York.

He was rounding a corner, his hands buried in his pockets, when he walked into a woman.

"Oh, sorry," he instantly and automatically said, halting in his tracks. Not that he was really sorry. No one was ever really sorry when they bumped into people in the street; it was just a force of habit.

She was glad for one she didn't take the coffee to go because it would have ended all over her. But the bag fell from her shoulder and the contents spilled out, a few medical books, pens and a note book. 'God, I'm so sorry, I was miles away.'

"No, no, it's okay," James replied, instantly looking down when he heard the books slap to the ground, along with a few other of her personal effects. He immediately crouched down to help her gather the things up, remarking when his plucked one of the books up and peering at it, "Studying medicine?"

She laughed a little as she knelt down, grabbing her things and putting them into her bag, 'Why don't we just agree that we are both sorry.' She took a book from him and nodded slowly, 'Yeah, I wanted to be a doctor for a while.'
