So, virtuistic and I are watching Food Network, as we often do late at night when we should be doing other things, and currently on is "Unwrapped," with your host Marc Summers. that's a lot of donuts! I love donuts:) I think after I catch up on lj I'm going to go to the union and get a donut. preferably krispy kreme because that's the only kind that is worth it. or an Otis Spunkmeyer chocolate chocolate chip muffin warmed in the microwave....mmmmm.

There shouldn't be any apostrophes. He is just using normal plural nouns. I do query his use of "claims", however. When using the words there is or there are, the choice of verb is governed by the number of things one is referring to. Examples could be "there is a question of grammar in the corner", or "there are two issues discussed in the newspaper today". I suppose the rule applies also to other verbs used with "there" so he should have said "there claim". Of course, I haven't said anything yet about the fact that it was a hopelessly structured sentence to begin with and that it shouldn't have seen the light of day (to unforgiveably mix metaphors).
