Wha---?

Why is all of the advertising that I'm getting on my Livejournal suddenly offering me 'hot'* women???

I will get around to posting r.e. my "Summer Wander Around Scotland" plans, soon (as soon as I have some solidish plans! :D)

All of my kids passed their oral English exam - no idea how, in certain cases, but there you go ( Read more... )

Are they Russian spammers? I've been getting a lot of Russian spam in certain communities, mostly with images of women in skimpy outfits. I just blocked images from that entire domain.

Nope, they're from all over the place and they're just the normal adverts that one has on one's homepage, in return for having a plus account.

Just seemed strange that they were suddenly so homogenous in theme!

Ahh, plus account. I've had a paid account for over seven years now, so when they introduced the plus accounts and advertising all over the place, I was completely oblivious to it. I hear people complain about LJ ads sometimes, but can't say I have much experience with them. Only when I login on the homepage from a different computer where someone doesn't have Adblock. Man, those ads are hideous.

Weird. I see a lot of the Russian spam on certain communities (hat communities, in particular, seem especially prone to this).

So is the plan just Scotland now? I'm definitely keen for Scotland, fingers crossed that a) I get more work and then b) manage to swing some time off!

Did I not tell you that?
Jeez, there's a good indication of where my head's at, right now!

Yeah, you know, I always knew that all four countries in a month would be far more rushed than I would like but the more I investigated the actual logistics of it, the more I realized that I'd literally be flitting in and out of places and, for me, there's really no point in doing that.
So, I'm just going to have to do 'em one by one!

On the plus side, a whole month in Scotland!!!

I'm slowly working out a basic plan and will pass it along to you as soon as it sort of makes sense, so you can get an idea of what I'll be up to.

I read your post about it being impossible to fit everything in, but didn't know what the upshot of that was. However, Scotland, yay! So so hope I can make it now. Well, I will, even if it's just for a weekend. But I want to go to Skye, Edinburgh, oh and google New Lanark Mill. Dunno how do-able some parts of Scotland are without a car though. Oh, and the Flying Scotsman! One day, I want to do Arran, the Shetland Islands, and Harris and Lewis. Quite desperately want to do those, actually.

My 'definites' list, so far, includes:

* Lewis and Harris
* Inverness
* The Culloden battlefield
* Loch Ness & Drumnadrochit
* Glasgow
* West Lothian
* Edinburgh
* One of the old monastries in the Borders area (probably Kelso)

I'll basically be trying to work my way down the country and, once I've worked out the details of transport, accomodation etc, I'll see what else I have time for, apart from what I've already listed.
I'd like to make it to Skye and Arran and Iona at least, as well, but it depends on time and money.

Glad to hear about the exams!

As for the ads - I only notice the one where they take over my computer screen upon log-in. Otherwise, I guess it's just phone companies...

Have fun in Scotland - always wanted to go there!
