Once again LJ forgets that people would rather opt in to stuff than opt out. From news we have this new gem about the new 'Explore' area of Livejournal where LJ is essentially aggregating everyone's posts ( Read more... )

It's crazy isn't it! I actually commented twince on the news item ... I doubt it'll make any difference though.

I'm amazed that they actually bothered to mention it on news because this kind of crapola is normally hidden away on lj_biz, isn't it? ;)

I'm always amazed how much time they're spending on developing crap we don't want instead of working on stuff we might actually use. I guess they're trying to "compete" with MySpace, despite the fact that's a totally different audience, and there's nothing wrong with it being a different audience.

how long has this been in effect?

I've noticed a slight amount of more traffic on the cover page of my LJ, and was wondering where it was coming from.

Apparently they have made it possible to exclude comms. unovis has posted about it. They must be insane - it's the only explanation!!
