I'm really happy to hear things are going so well with the new job, you totally deserve it. Just keep in mind, come April, life will calm down a bit - I know that's 4 months away, but it will be worth it! We ALL understand about RL :)

Thanks for putting all those links together, the situation is Haiti is truly heartbreaking...since the news is a big old Thrace Warning waiting to happen and I've been emotionally labile this past week for personal reasons, I have not been watching any news. Charity is a good thing.

First - glad you're loving your new job :)

Second - The sheer response on help_haiti from... pretty much every fandom I can think of, actually, has been insane. (The people who have volunteered to index all the fic offerings by fandom must be mad, heh.) It's things like this that make me so proud of fandom, and well, makes me believe the human race might just be a half decent lot after all.

It seriously is just mind-boggling. Everyone is coming together to help. It's touching and, yes, makes the self-hatred go away just a little bit.
