Same with me; however, all in all, it's rather lovely.
And, to be honest, I agree with him, why sometimes it's clear Jack/Ianto vs Owen/Tosh/Gwen. Toshiko, despite five years employment, seems too kind for Torchwood. Gwen's got that famous compassion. And, deep down, Owen's a doctor because he wants to help people. Jack and Ianto know that you hope for the best but prepare for the worst and that sometimes you can't rescue a shitty situation.
Can I take a moment to appreciate the way you didn't make Ianto an insecure whiner in this version? An insecure whiner who doesn't trust Jack...yay for ongoing Janto.
And yay for Jack making the hard choices because that's what leaders do. Even when it sucks. (Hey, maybe they can keep it and use it to heal members of the team....*shakes head to dislodge plot bunny and toss it at Gracie*)
*blush* Thank you. Although in Ianto's defense, I would be pretty insecure if I suddenly turned into a man. I think our 'verse made Ianto have to keep it together a bit more, since he has Tosh and Owen and Ryo and Dee to watch after instead of just Jack and Gwen. It's easier to collapse in front of one or two friends than in front of a group. Y'know?
And direct all plot bunnies at Gena, since it's her turn.
Don't see why it couldn't end up in the archive -- just in case. They can put it in that section where... you know, where Jack sent Toshiko into and get some tech back when Ianto and Ryo were injured in the zoo.
All caught up ... and in a so much better mood that i was earlier ... this is just fabulous, this crossover is so totally inspired and it works so brilliantly.
Thank you so much! And yeah, Jack's got the very hard decisions. I watched Small Worlds before watching this and yes, he had to give up a child, but it was Jasmine or everything. Poor thing.

This ... is lovely. I like the way Ianto understands why the team thinks the way it does.

Poor Jack has to make all the hard decisions. *hugs him* Ianto's insight into how the team thinks was spot on and just how I see them.
Lovely chapter and I'm almost caught up, yay!
