After a very interesting day that was mostly a giant rollercoaster, the thing that stands out the most is probably the simplest thing of all -- floating through cypress trees on a canoe in a lake. The simple beauty of the trees combined with the water was just amazing. And I know that sounds dorky, but it was such a peaceful place to be, ( Read more... )

true true...kinda like how I liked just sitting there with my dad last weekend...we didn't have to talk, just be together.

Just to further that I know exactly what you mean. My greatest memories as a child come from having vacations alongside the Suwanee River. Just looking at the Cypress Trees, Turtles, Gators, mullet(fish, not haircuts), and many other things down there. When you move your whole life is is great to have memories that seems close to the same.

that's where I was last weekend..on the Suwannee river w/ my dad! We saw a snake catch a toad it was awesome! And we caught some minnows just to catch..we let them go after a minute or five. and turtle but no gators and no mullets

Ah usually mullet is the fish that is jumping out of the water. Maybe it is only a summer thing they do, but if you hear a big jump and splash. It is usually mullet.

Is that also the case up here in the lake? There was a big splash and something jumped out of the water, but I didn't turn around quick enough to see what it was.

It isn't always the case, I just know for a fact that on the Suwannee it is mostly mullet.
