I'm really into this pairing, but I am still really picky about the kind of fics I like. I would say that out of all the fanfic AU's I have ever read, this pairing has the most consistently OOC characters. Especially with modern AUs. Sometimes the OOC isn't so bad, and I can deal. But it just really throws me out of a fic when Katniss is so

Hi :) So I got a pingback from LJ mentioning this post - firstly, thank you very much for the rec! But the main reason I wanted to comment was to say that I feel your pain when it comes to the ooc-ness of this pairing. I've been reading pretty everything ever posted on AO3 for the past few months (since the Catching Fire movie started my obsession with them), and I've made a few rec posts that you might be interested in at my LJ. Hopefully you might find something you like that you haven't come across before. There's also a bunch of wips that I haven't posted about yet but am subscribed to, and can link you those if you're interested (I will rec them when they're eventually complete). No problem! And I will definitely check out your recs! I always find it easier to read based off of a recs, it can be so daunting and misleading to just try and read via Ao3 and filtering! I'm pretty wary of WIPs (I just get too invested in a story to risk it not being finished) but I'll def keep an eye out for your recs! :) Thanks for commenting!

Heh, I've lost count of the number of times I've had to hit the back button on fics that don't warn/are way too out-of-character/are poorly written, so yes, recs always help :)

I have to admit that I'm usually very against reading incomplete fics for that very reason...but I'm so crazy for this pairing at the moment that I can't resist, especially when the characterisation is good.

I actually have an email from a year or two ago when a few friends were reading HG fic and we collected a small list of good fics w/various pairings. I'm not sure I could easily post it as a comment or PM it to you what with links and one or two PDF fics, but I'd be happy to email it to you. There are a number of fics with this pairing, though I may not have read them all, I very much trust the authors and the recs from my friends. Most were Katniss/Peeta, Katniss/Gale, Peeta/Gale, and a few great Finnick/Annie.
