Deborah, head on over to KCRA 3. You handled yourself excellently on camera and energized a so-so report with coherent and imaginative, snappy ad lib commentary - something unexpected on television. Maybe they will decide to hand you a mic, a camera crew, and some assignments to cover. Yeah!
"had I been handed the mike, I could have said so much more. " I KNOW you could. You are so pretty in action, so articulate and poised. I AM Impressed! And I liked the train, too.
You know, when I pulled up to the yard at 5 AM and saw NO one there I was tickled pink because 844 was sitting there with no one else around to interfere with a photo.
I saw the newscast at 8 when she pulled out and there were probably 100 or more people watching the departure. I love the image I made of the locomotive that morning and am so proud of myself how I handled this situation. If you had known me 10 years ago .. you would have said " no way, she could never do that."

Knowing me, I would have gone on about how Theodore Judah never got the fame he deserved, but that's another story.
That's two for you, my friend. The vote one, it seemed like you were ducking the camera. This one, it seemed like you couldn't wait to have your say so.
FYI, Brian comes into the store every now and then to buy stuff and to seek knowledge from us old timers. His photo journalists and engineers come in all the time.

You've had more than 15 seconds of fame. We've seen you vote on TV, too.

totally ad lib. I didn't have a clue what this guy was going to ask me. But I wasn't nervous at all. Kinda cool huh.
(Boy ... I've come a long way!)

Brian was cool. We chatted for at least 15 minutes before the cameras went live.
