Two of my workmates are Iranian, so I've been hearing a lot about this. One was telling me how her cousin went to vote and before she even got to the polls she saw on TV that he'd been anounced as the winner. It's so disgusting.
I hope people in this country who take the ability to vote for granted sit up and take notice. Voter apathy is one of my pet hates. RARGH!
One thing that we're all doing on Twitter is changing our location to Tehran and our timezone to GMT 3.30+. The Iranian security units are searching for people posting information via Twitter. If we all become "Iranians", it makes the actual targets much harder to find. ~*CAMOFLAUGE*~!
The fact that there are people in the world who are as brave and headstrong and... I don't even have the words... as the people who have taken to the streets, is enough for me to be able to see change happening in the near future. I mean, I didn't know that people like that existed to be honest. I know it sounds strange, but protests for democracy in Iran is just not something I thought I'd hear about anytime soon.
