Don't shoot me!

OKAY, before you begin writing essays telling me I shouldn't cut my hair I just want to say I am NOT necessarily going to. I've been looking around blogs and pictures online of short hairstyles and through all of them, just a few stood out to me. Even if I DID cut my hair, I'm still not sure exactly how I'd want it done. I like the idea of bangs. ( Read more... )

*shoots Anna* NO!

Actually, I think your hair would look nice short, but I don't like this particular style, especially in that top left picture and the 2nd to last on the bottom. It looks too choppy on the left side of her face (the right side in these pictures), and it looks like someone just took scissors and haphazardly cut her bangs on a slight diagonal to the other side of her face. It looks nice on that other side, but the choppy side is just ugly to me.
I like the top right picture, but maybe that's because the choppy side is too shadowed to tell? Hehe.

But anyway, short choppy layered hair IS a pain in the arse to fix up for civil war stuff.

haha. Thanks for being honest, Julie! Those pictures aren't the greatest, but they are sort of something I invisioned. I don't know that I'd get bangs anyway. They are even harder to put back for Civil War stuff. I actually used hair spray once! Horrors!! :)

Hair cuts can be such fun! Like you, I'm tired of all the Lohan copies (both the blonde and black hair versions) that are trotting around. Just no originality, imho, and it looks so unnatural. But that's me. ;)

I actually like the choppy look. Its very artsy and bohemian (but not in the boho way that was all the rage a few years back... *giggle*). To me its almost French in a way; it shows a certain artful lack of over-consciousness with ones appearence. ;) I'd say if you wanted to get it cut really short, get it done right above your shoulders at first and have it really layered. Layers are beautiful things... I'm addicted to them!! :D

I'd say go for it, but then again I don't do reenacting, nor can I cut my hair short (I have majorly thick hair, which means triangle hair if I get it cut even shoulder length... :p). I think the only kind of short haircut I could even try and do would be a pixie, but I'm not willing to go that short! hehe.

Girls who look way too over-the-top. They seem way over done. I'm the same way with make-up. I like to keep it minimal, but not so much that it seems silly to even wear any. I even don't mind so much anymore when make-up isn't worn. I'm more into the eyes anyway and leave the rest alone (except for those nasty blemishes ( ... )

Yeah, I'm the same way with makeup, though I tend to be a little heavier during the winter months. :) I've been trying to cut back a little though, 'cause I noticed with the increased makeup I was having a bit of a breakout. :p Ick!! Still can't break myself from the mascara and red lipstick though... hehe!

Thanks so much for your input, Casey! :)
Well you know me--always willing to weigh in on fashion related matters. ;) lol!

There's something so vintage about lipstick. I don't always mind it, but I have found I can't wear it very well. Either it just makes me look too made-up or I get so annoyed while wearing it. I feel like I need to look at myself in a mirror every minute just to see if the lipstick has gotten messed up. *sigh* I'm also rather picky about my mascara. I don't like wearing black or black/brown or even "true" brown. But I love my auburn or more recently blue. I was just curious about the blue, but I've found it actually brings out my brown eyes. And besides, it's kinda fun knowing I've got blue mascara on instead of the traditional black or brown. ;-) Usually if I come back from a reenactment where I don't wear any make-up I'll try to refrain from wearing any for a few more days if I can. The bad part is I start to forget and when I do have mascara on I rub my eyes. ack. Not cool! Anyways...didn't mean to ramble. hehe.

Do whatever you want to, Anna! :) I cut mine short because I was getting awful headaches from it's length. (My hair is really thick and it was just too much weight, I think.) I really like my hair short, it frames my face better, but I think you should do what you think you'll be happy with. Maybe you could try cutting it short without bangs at first? (Because of the reenactment stuff.) You have such a pretty face that whatever you decide to do will look good/cute on you. :)

I really like that second picture on the top. :)

Aw, thanks! What a nice thing to say. :-) I still haven't decided, almost seems like a bigger step than the last time. I don't know why, though! But I will see...who knows. :-)

I Like the bangs on the "I absolutely adroe her hair.. " model. I think you should leave you length ( I actually thought it looked very cute this morning) cut in some bangs ( Not too heavy) and maybe add some more chunky layers. You should consider going to my stylist. She's really good.

I agree with ^ above comment. You are a beautiful person, and whatever you do will look great!

btw, I hope you psot pictures of your 'secret project' soon. It sounds awesome!

Thanks, Elyssa! I still haven't decided WHAT TO DO. Bangs seem fun, but then I worry about putting them back for reenacting. grrr. Only thing is I'm thinking the next reenactment won't really be until March (after next week, that is). So maybe there'd be enough time for it to grow out a bit? Hm... Well thanks for your ideas! I never really thought about just getting bangs and then chunky layers. I may consider going to your stylist, though there is one I'm fond of who does Katie's hair. It's the same place I get my hair done, but I've never gotten it done by her before. What's your stylist's name again?

Oh and yes! I'll definitely post pictures of my "seceret" project. hehe. I hope I can finish it today! 'Cause tomorrow I won't have much time to work on it and this week I really shouldn't spend time on stuff for *me*. I've got lotsa work to get done.

Man, Elyssa. aghh. You're SUCH a bad speller!!! JUST KIDDING. I know you're like the best speller I know, so don't even think about worrying about a few typing errors! haha. It gives your post character, eh? haha.
