I'm sorting out my dratted pictures - FINALLY - 'cause when I copied them to this computer, it went and lost all the makers' names of all the icons I'd saved. So I haven't dared mess around with my icons since about September, in case I screw up and credit the wrong person...
Actually, I'm sorry to say that the nearer to my heart the character is, the less inclined I am to read fanfic. :( I don't know why it is, but I've just always been that way. I'm sorry. Not a slur on you or any other writers, but it's just the way I am. My mom's the same way. I think it's that we love canon so much that we don't like it messed with or manipulated in any way. (Like in movies if they change things to make it more "appealing" or attractive...)
Unless it's pure silliness. I read crack fic on rare occasions, and I like swiss_kun's movies and silly stuff like that.
In that case, you'd better give me some ideas on what I could write for you. I can't draw, like The Gilly, or even swiss_kun, so that's not an option. :(
And I quite understand how you feel - I still haven't watched LOTR because I don't think I'm going to like how it's not the books...
You haven't watched it??? Well, almost everybody I know who loved the books first also loved the movies. Naturally they can't include EVERYTHING, but they really did an excellent job.
My favorite book is Les Miserables, and I've never seen an entirely satisfactory adaptation of it. The movie with Liam Neeson had parts that were just terrible, completely wrong, the way the characters were portrayed, plus it leaves off the whole ending - but over all, it really captured the mood of the book, and that's an accomplishment I can appreciate. And he himself was excellent.
Name a marine after me - someone prickly and hard to eradicate.
I haven't read Les Miserables, though Latin did tell us that people get put off by the sheer size of it. I may hunt out an abridged translation one day...
A Marine called Grace might raise a few eyebrows...
Nonsense, I shall name a great lady after you: Isabella Gratiana
I still want some more Marines ones, though. *sighs*

It's only slightly spoilery for Chapter Three of FSOTW anyway, and you must be halfway through the book by now...

Which give me more incentive to write that missing scene The Gilly wants me to write...

But I meant Grace (or White) as a LAST name, silly. :D
Your icon keeps confusing me because I keep thinking it's mine, since I made it. And that your posts are mine. Silly me.
