exciting! my first challenge since big bang '09!

i didn't realize it as it was happening, but the theme of this fic is loosely based on the song "touch me" from the 2006 musical spring awakening. performance embedded at the bottom.

I love this, hon, I really do, you put so much emotion into this, but in such a subtle, real way. I love the made up back story about the amulet, and the image of Castiel in a Santa hat eating pie. I was so happy to read this as a whole, finished fic!

Guess what a dumbass I am, though. I thought our dates were the 13th and 14th, and I hadn't started my painting at all. XD I had to have the mods switch me to January 16th. der.

This is my first Dean/Castiel fic, because it's not something I've been particularly interested in (I like their canonical relationship just fine).

However, if I do read any more, I would love them to be as good as this. You managed to get a strong sense of Castiel's otherworldliness in there, and the moment of ethereal comfort was gorgeous. There was no over-emoting, but when Dean feels his eyes fill as Cas warms him - mine did too!

Beautiful job, you brilliant person, you.

same here. i'm not sure why i even signed up for the challenge, as in love with that canon as i am. i just had the idea, i reckon! and it worked out, but i am much more a fan of their odd friendship.

and since we're on this topic, sort of, corby why don't people like castiel? it urks me so hard. i mean i guess it's mostly winchester purists, but - ! come on! it's perfect! after the moment in s2 where dean gives in to the possibility of grace, and then having an angel bff? it's just excellent.

Wow! Awesome Castiel characterization. I mean... AWESOME. The little touches of humanity and the newness of that, and the comparisons to before were understated but really effective.

And the gifts... the necklace.... such a beautiful idea, beautifully executed.

Dean being so guilty over losing the amulet that he won't accept gifts from Sam and Sam just knowing is so them. And Castiel, Castiel, I just want to give him a hug.
