i saw wicked last night with two of my besties, and i was so overwhelmed by the entire thing! the lights! the dancing! one of the saddest characters ever! "no one mourns the wicked," omfg. it was intense. and beautiful. it's on tour - try to see it when it comes around ( Read more... )

I HAD HEARD IT BEFORE BUT OMGGGG NO JUSTICE, TO THE END OF ACT ONE, OMFG, THE MOST EMOTIONAL I HAVE EVER BEEN AT A SHOW (NOT REALLY BECAUSE I'VE SEEN SOME GREAT SHOWS BUT STILL) IT WAS AMAAAAZING! defying gravity indeed.

ok, wait. jensen is CLEARLY elphaba. is jared glinda or fiyero? which is the love story here? i mean the show is really all about the love story/friendship between the girls, but there is a love story/triangle there with fiyero?

i think for j2 purposes i'd prefer jared take the glinda role and then re-write the whole ending so that the fiyero character (chad? danneel? we'll work it out) is just a friend but its jared and jensen working together and being together at the end. because COME ON! that show would be even better if elphie and glinda got together!

thoughts?

HAHA i think we all know the answer to that question.

this is a tough cookie to crack, cause man -- i love the idea of fiyero just being undeniably in love with elphie, even though he's with glinda. i wonder if it would work as well to just shift the focus, to have a really nice characterization of danneel as glinda, that we absolutely LOVE, so we can be sort of attached to her and jensen hating each other and then being friends, OMFG DANNEEL TEACHING JENSEN TO BE POPULAR STFU

but then have it be more about jared, who is OMG SO FIYERO!!!! also okay, there was this point in the play where glinda says to fiyero, "no one has looked harder for her than you." AND MY EYES FILLED UP. IT'S BEAUTIFUL.

i think that is where i would go with it!

BUT IM NOT WRITING THIS, TESS. I'M NOT. I GOT AIDA AND MICHAEL JACKSON FIC ON THE BACKBURNERS, AND ABOUT FORTY XMAS PROMPTS STILL.

Man, you know, i read the book and I didn't enjoy it. I wonder if this is a case of the theater production being better. I'm glad you liked it and had fun!

duuuude THE BOOK WAS SO @$@(%*@ BORING. i read like two chapters and gave up. i am so much more the music/harmony/choir/rhythm person. set to music is was beautiful, and set on stage it is just out of this world. elphaba is a great, great character and will MOVE YOU.

i plan on doing a 2009 review in musicals, and that is gonna be on it. prepare yo' self.
