[Bell is late as usual. I've had a busy weekend.]

Well, anyway, the kid overreacted. Sorry about that.

What does one get their boyfri-roommate- someone for his (belated) birthday? A dog, maybe?

c: youth (gai), e: hourglass sand, c: genius (topher), c: fred (romana), c: lotus (lee), c: cara (krile), c: gene-1 (lyle), c: smoke (gojyo)

I did not overreact.

You did.

You're ok now, though, hm?

You were covered in sand. [Not possible to overreact to that. Want to see his scars?]

...I am. Are you?

Yeah, well. These kinds of things happen from time to time, I guess. [No no. He's good. He understands. But he's still going to play it off as "not that bad."]

Ah, good.
I'm [pause] fine.

What should we get your dad someone for his birthday? I seemed to have forgotten it on its original date, so we're rescheduling it for sometime now.

It was stressful, especially after the memories he and I both have had like that. I do not blame him.

Not a dog. Definitely not an animal.

Yeah, well, whatever. It was just a bit of sand. Most of which is out of my hair now.

Not even one of his favorite animals?
Then what would you suggest?

It was not just a bit! It was very worrying!

Something he would like. Or both would like together.

grab_my_bells October 4 2010, 04:06:35 UTC
Sure ok.

Or that the three would like. And then something for the two alone later.
Someone suggests hotsprings for the latter. What do you think?

No idea what's going on but after all this, I'd suggest a dip in the hot springs.

[[Because no that doesn't ping for his erased memories at all]]

That does sound like a nice present, yeah. Not too kid-friendly, but not bad either.

[[Not even a little, Smokey?]]

He won't be sappy and say it, but it's that whole 'all we have is time' thing inthecenterfold October 4 2010, 04:13:29 UTC
Didn't know it needed to be kid-friendly. Could be, but no fun in that.

[and that does ping, damnit]

awww. yeah, if you're sappy, Smoke, he's going to B| at you. grab_my_bells October 4 2010, 04:16:33 UTC
It's his birthday, not mine. It should include the kid a little, I guess.

Overre-- [Smear of ink over that, as she thinks better of giving him any sort of lecture. The ink does trail across the page quite a ways, however.]

You seem none the worse for wear, at least.

Hm?

I'm fine, Fred.
[And just to prove it, an attempt at normalacy.] I don't suppose I could convince you to pop out of a cake for Youth's someone's belated birthday, could I?

burntorangesky October 4 2010, 04:43:44 UTC
[...alright, she has to grin at that.]

No, I think not. I will, however, be perfectly willing to eat cake, if you happen to be giving some to [pen taps] a friend.

I think a cake could be arranged. Assuming there are enough people to eat it.

Know anyone who enjoys chocolate cake?

Feeling refreshed after the little rest?

[Yes, he is going to act like he wasn't worried as all hell despite evidence to the contrary, why do you ask?]

Can he be persuaded into some sort of vacation or would that take too much coaxing?

grab_my_bells October 4 2010, 04:59:17 UTC
Of course. I just wish I could have brought my book. It would have made for better dreams.

[/will conveniently ignore any worry you might have shown, brother-dear]

Where do you suggest we go? We're stuck in a fishbowl.

live_ringer October 4 2010, 06:35:14 UTC
Ah well. This way you were less distracted, I'm sure.

[Perfect arrangement.]

A vacation doesn't mean you have to go far away. No work and a day of doing whatever. Walking up trees in the park, walking across the water in the lake, whatever it is you do for fun. Maybe a nice dinner afterward.

I suppose.

[Ah, good.]

We do each other for fun, last I checked. [Though that's a very good idea, a dinner date...hm. It's a bit silly, he thinks, but maybe he'll have to ask Youth. He'll...thank you later, maybe >.>]
