Last night my co-worker, in his drunken state, called me around 1:30ish AM and begged me if I could go out to DC. I insisted that it was already too late and that it would take me an hour to get there. I suggested that it would be best to go out another time

In this context, I don't think they were called faggots because they are gay. I think it was more of a play of power and intimidation.

Plus, they despise going to gay bars due to the extremely forward atmosphere and prefer going to straight bars - perhaps that was the mistake.

Was it in Adams Morgan? The Post had some article about how violent some of those streets are getting Saturday nights. It's crazy.

He didn't even know where he was - they were completely wasted. At the time he called me he said that they were going home already however, he claimed that they were mugged around 3:00AM. I myself have been meeting up with friends at Adams Morgan lately - perhaps I should be cautious.

god you would think that kinda crap is over with, that people could have more of open mindedness to difference especially in a country that says we are all free. I am glad that it wasnt you and please give my condolences to your co-worker I hope he is ok!
