so, we're settling in to the new place slowly but surely. and i have to say, the room that sold me on the place was the kitchen and great room. and after cooking our first meal 2 nights ago, it lived up to my hopes

That is a beautiful kitchen. I *love* the cabinetry.

I've never lived in a place with a gas stove, but the more I learn to cook, the more I realize I need to.

yeah, they are great. and the drawers are anti-slam! (which i never knew existed before seeing these)

very nice! my mother always preferred small kitchens as they are easier to work in for the very reasons you mention. it makes it more efficient for the cook. (not to mention the gas stove, which i'm sure you're loving the heck out of right now.)

What I love about gas is that it heats up so quickly. I also enjoy the reduced heating bills!

I do always have to keep in mind though, especially with cast iron pans, to reduce the setting "just a bit."
