Maible was in a great mood! She'd just finished having breakfast with her father, which was always a nice thing, and now she was taking a walk. There was a park near the ministry and sometimes she liked to spend her Saturdays there, to try and give Ed and Ash a bit of alone time, even if they'd never tell her they needed it.

Her mood only improved when she saw one of her Hogwarts classmates sitting on her usual bench. This was a pleasant surprise, even if she could already feel herself growing a bit flustered as she approached the boy.

"Hey, that's really good," she commented when she got close enough to see what he was drawing.

David had been thoroughly engrossed in what he was doing and hadn't heard Maible's approach until she'd actually spoken to him.

"Oh... hello," he greeted with a smile before sliding on the bench to make room for her. "It's not really... it's lopsided but thank you."

He tilted the picture up to allow her to see that it sat at an angle on the paper and that the top tier of the fountain was slightly off before closing the notebook and giving her his full attention.

After a moments hesitation, he grinned. "I thought you were from Ireland," he assessed. "What brings you to London?"

Honestly, he probably shouldn't have been so confident in that bit of knowledge but he'd heard things and, he wouldn't admit it, but his ears perked up a bit when people talked about her.

((hello, lj hook))

"Well, I still think it's brilliant," she told him, shaking her head. She might be a little bit biased there, but she still thought it was a good sketch. "I can barely even do stick figures."

She laughed sheepishly and tucked her hair behind her ear as she took a seat, practically beaming at his question, because it meant he'd paid attention enough to notice or remember and that.. that was amazing.

"My sister and my brother-in-law.. They've got a flat here, so I'm staying with them for the summer. It's better than staying home and working for mum." Pause. "What about you? Do you live nearby?"

David wasn't talented when it came to drawing. Sure, he could sketch something if he could see it but that was very limited... and sometimes things turned out lopsided. It was nice to hear the compliment, though.

He thought very briefly that she was very pretty as she tucked her golden locks behind her ear but his attention turned back to her words.

"Professor McMillan?" he questioned, almost certain that the pair of females didn't have any other siblings.

"Oh, no. I don't live nearby. Not close, really. I'm staying with my brother and his girlfriend. They recently rented a flat and he invited me to come over for part of the summer."

He paused studying her a moment before he continued. "So, you're enjoying your summer, then?"
