James had managed to keep himself busy so far this summer. He had a job, the band, family things... needless to say, he hadn't had much time for a breather just yet. But finally, finally he was getting some much needed downtime and time to go and visit people. Sure, he'd run into people here and there over the summer, but not nearly as many as he would have liked, nor was he able to talk to them as much as he would have liked.
But, hey! At least he could do it now, right? Right. And he was never one to break a promise or back down on his word, so here he was, entering a bookshop (a strange place for him to be, really, but he was here to see someone), hands shoved into his pockets as he glanced around just a bit. It was nice, wasn't it? He should have expected that, really, but... whatever.
And then, then he spotted a familair head of blonde hair and he slipped up behind her. "Should I be jealous?" He asked in a teasing tone.
"Jealous of.." Ellie started to speak before she fully registered who that voice belonged to, but when she did realize it, her face broke into a wide grin and she turned to throw her arms around him in a fierce hug, forgetting for a moment all about how she should play it cool or any of that, because the person she'd missed the most all summer was standing right here.
"James!" she cried as she hugged him, clearly quite happy and excited to see him.
Grinning, James slipped his arms around her and gave her a small, quick spin before setting her down again. "Hey, El," he said with a grin as he looked down at her, his grin turning slightly teasing as he pulled away. "It's really good to see you..."
He trailed off a bit, winking at her. "Or... maybe I should leave you alone with your books?"
Ellie shook her head furiously at that suggestion. "God, it's good to see you," she said, still grinning. She was really surprised he'd come, even though he'd said he might. Surprised, but happy, too.
"What are you doing here? How has your summer been? Did I mention it's great to see you?" She babbled nervously, shifting and biting lightly at her lip.
