April Fool's Day. His favourite day of the year -- mostly because it allowed him to have tremendous amounts of fun, and nobody could really get upset! Sure, he played pranks throughout the year, but today? Today was special.
Grinning a bit, he kept himself around a corner, quietly waiting with his wand in his hand as he crouched down, watching. Oh, he had plans all right. Big ones! Hopefully, they would go as well as he planned...
Of course, they were mostly harmless -- nothing too horrible, but they were spectacular nevertheless! He'd even paid a visit to Zonko's recently....
Now? Now to hope he could pull this off. First? A casual approach as he swung his bag over his shoulder. "Ellie!" He said smiling brightly as he jogged towards her. "Afternoon."`
"James!" Ellie grinned brightly at the boy as he approached, pretty much forgetting what day it was, because it was good to see him, as always. She shifted the books in her arms slightly and gave a little tilt of her head.
"How are you?" she asked conversationally. There was a little more shifting -these books were heavy- and another smile.
"Heading back to the Common Room? We could walk together..."
Without saying another word, James took the books from her arms, grinning all the while. "Me? I'm fantastic," he said as he shifted the books in his arms, smiling down at her. "Busy, but fantastic. And how're you?"
He paused for a moment, and that mini-devious grin on his face widened. "Yeah, actually, I was," he said. "And I'd love that. I've missed spending time with you, El."
Ellie gave him a surprised, but grateful, smile when he took her books from her. "Thanks."
James, being a gentleman? Well, he always was full of surprises, wasn't he?
"I'm good. Studying like mad for finals, you know," she replied. She about beamed at him when he said he'd missed her.
"I know what you mean.. classes are insane right now. I kind of miss you, too," she told him with a slight tilt of her head, smiling over at him as they walked.
