Transmigration 9 Survival Guide

((Originally taken from here))

What We've Been Told:
- This ship is the Transmigration 9. We don't know who made it originally, but we have been told it was originally a prison ship that was refitted by a race of aliens known as the Daligig.

-The Daligig are part of an alliance of universes and races known as the Greater Interdimensional Alliance. The GIA is the largest military force who are war against a species called the Ohm. The Ohm are destroying universes.

- Supposedly, the reason we're here is we were saved by this ship's former crew when our worlds were destroyed. There are also a number of other things they saved. (Contents of the media library, vehicles, Weapons and Possessions locker contents, Heavy Weapons, etc.)

-There is a way to restore our worlds, supposedly. The Ohm have it.

-However, we've also recently been told that its not just the further destruction of several universes at stake, but, well... EVERYTHING is at risk of being wiped out. So much so that even god-like cosmic entities feel the need to assist us, in their own unique and vaguely indirect way.

What We Think We Know:

-The former crew of the Transmigration 9 are all dead or evacuated. [UPDATED] We initially thought they'd picked up a monster that was too strong for them to control, and were forced to abandon ship. That they sabotaged Stacy, deleted or locked down most of the records, and left her derelict. However, we have come to discover that at some point prior to the current crew's release, that a crew made up of people who had been rescued and released from the pods had been in control of the ship. We're not sure how long ago that was, but it seems to have been a matter of a few earth years. We know that they failed in at least one critical mission, but beyond that, we have no idea what happened to them.

-After the previous crew had disappeared, but prior to the current crew members being release, some pirates found the ship drifting and latched their ship onto Stacy's bridge. They messed her up further steering course for an interdimensional slave market to sell off those of us in podsleep. We were successfully able to fight them off.

What We Know For Sure:
-The ship's primary AI is Stacy, the voice you heard when you woke up. She is mostly in charge, whether we like it or not.

-Stacy woke up the first members of the current crew in desperation, and eventually (there were several setbacks) managed to guide us into attacking the pirates on the sealed bridge. There we made contact with the Daligig. This is a video log of that exchange. Omnicomm audio is very bad, if you can't understand it take it down to media and plug it somewhere.

-The Daligig claim they cannot help directly us due to distance.

-However, the ship is now officially part of the GIA, thanks to the efforts of the Captain and the crew. We can receive assistance from any from any other GIA outpost or ship we come across, though by all indications, we're a long distance from GIA territory.

-We currently have some control over the ship, but not full. Only she knows where she's going, in what dimension, when, and how. It's a set course, but we have acquired some navigational data, so we have an idea of where we're headed, and we can make some alterations to our course, but only if Stacy agrees.

-We have been drafted into the Daligig's war with the Ohm. Stacy expects us to go along with her set missions. She has used force in the past, however, we do have a some say in who will be on the front lines of any battles we find ourselves in.

-Yes, the Ohm can destroy entire worlds, something many of us have witnessed this first hand. Logs for  that mission, known as "Zokez II", as well as all missions this crew has been on are available for review on the Bridge and the Precinct, as well as archived in the Media Library. All crew members may access these at any time. Missions can be reconstructed in the Sensoriums.

-All the information we've been able to compile about the Ohm is also available for access from either the Bridge or the Precinct.

-Stacy has the power to somewhat alter our memories. Crew members who were returned to their pods used to be erased from our memories, though this recently stopped. GLaDOS still removes people from crew memory when taken away for avia testing (More on that later).

-We've recently acquired a device called the Tapestry. It's, in effect, a guidepost for the future, or a glorified crystal ball. Its located in Sensorium 7. You can interact with it there, but its not to be removed from that location.

Ship Government/Command Structure:
Ship government, laws, regulations: ( Here)
Military Chain of Command:
[[Potentially subject to OOC meddling]]

Captain > First Officer > Lt. Commanders/Department Heads > Lieutenants > Senior Department Staff > 2nd Lt. > Ensign > Sergeant > Away Team leaders

For a full list of the current Command Staff and Council Members, see here.

The listing for all Departments is here.

A list for all independent civilian groups is here.

Other Important Information:
-There are several other AI's in Stacy's systems. GLaDOS is the most notable. She toys with us and takes advantage of Stacy's memory modification to perform tests on the crew. (Physical tests, mostly. She isolates certain crew members and makes them run mazes with portals in their dreams. Promises cake. Never delivers. Those who pass her tests are returned to the crew at large, those who fail are returned to the pods) She has also done "social experiments" on the crew. We've been told GLaDOS does this due to a medical problem common among transdimensional travelers and testing to ensure we're still healthy, and Stacy has interfered in all attempts at shutting down or destroying GLaDOS. Other AI's encountered appear helpful, but only know about as much as we do.

-Stacy's warden personality demands we obey certain ship rules. Disobeying them after you receive one warning (she will only ever give one warning per crew member) gets you "Violations" and possibly smacked with an energy tentacle. She will count fifteen Violations before administering "Punishment". We do not know what "Punishment" is. The Daligig claim they do not know what "Punishment" is.  [UPDATE] We do know what "Punishment" is, and it involves the Warden AI abusing the full capabilities of the ship to gratuitously torture (though not kill) whoever was unfortunate enough to get 15 violations. There have been no repeat offenders, but we believe that "Punishment" will only escalate, potentially resulting in death.

Known Rule-Breaking Actions Include But Are Not Limited To:
  • Violence against other crew members.

  • Damaging parts of the ship.

  • Attempting to hack Stacy or any of her systems.

  • Disobeying a direct order from Stacy.

  • Going into "restricted" areas of the ship.

  • Having sex anywhere besides your quarters/without a contraceptive shot from Medical. (Even if it's impossible for you to procreate. Stacy makes no exceptions.)

-Billy Cranston is the current administrator of the omnicomms. Behave yourselves, don't hack into private files, have common sense. It's all logged, and it will be dealt with severely.

-Physicals are mandatory. There are no exceptions.

-Psych evaluations are mandatory. Again, there are no exceptions.

The Living Area
Map of the Living Area
-Observation Deck: If you've just woken up, you've seen the pod caverns, gone through the transport tubes, and been on the Observation Deck at least. The Obs Deck can break away from the ship and is how Stacy conveys the crew down to planets for missions. Lots of crew members congregate here, and it's easy to find most other living area locations from here. Stacy tends to call meetings here.
-Mess Hall: Dispenses nutrient mush and edible trays. Lots of space to sit, secondary meeting location if the Obs Deck is detached.
-Media Library: Has lots of information from many worlds. Music, texts, film, literature, etc. The main core of the translation system is in here.
-Sensoriums: Very useful rooms. Empty at first glance, can be used to create convincing hard light simulations of just about anything. Popular for obvious reasons.
-Art Hall: Has lots of shifting statues. Crew members have noted things from their pasts here. Has no discernible purpose.
-Sleeping Hall: We don't use these anymore. Instead, go up to the crew quarters. But if you want to sleep in what feels like a giant nose, go for it.

Medical/Laboratories
The Medical Bay, Engineering, Contagion/Contamination, and Special Weapons are open areas, but don't cause problems or get in the way. People are doing their jobs there. If you need something special or have skills and time to offer, let that department know.
Hydroponics is relatively newly opened area. It's home to a lot of plants and animals. Stacy doesn't allow crew members to kill animals, but you can eat fruits and vegetables. If you don't know what it is, don't eat it. It might kill you.
There are some laboratory facilities in hydroponics, but they're in disarray as of this moment.

The City
Map of The City
The City is what it sounds like. Stacy has a lot of stolen architecture she's hauling around. It's all empty, mostly notable buildings from various worlds. There are no guarantees about safety down there, almost every on-ship problem we've had originated somewhere in the City and Stacy can't monitor all of it.

A Few Important Places in the City:
  • The Vatican - Has been used as a fortress, damaged, and repaired several times. Our apologies to any Catholics.

  • The Precinct - Center for the Security. Contains the brig.

  • The Drunken Dragon - Our tavern. Owned and run by Kang. Don't mess with it or he will get you.

  • Various Temples ("Religion Row")- Stacy's collected a lot of temples. Many crew members use them as meeting places.

  • Escherville Ruins - The remains of Escherville, from when the Nightmare King was killed. Should be safe, now. Pieces of twisted building, bits of stairway, etc. You'll know it when you see it.
  • The River - Runs from the ruins of Escherville to the plant temple. (Temple made of plants, can't miss it.)

  • The Bath House - Located along the river, its one of the few places on the ship that has a supply of running water.

In Closing
Those are the basics. If you have any other questions, grab somebody. All members of Command, The Council, and all Department Heads are usually available to answer questions. That was the worst of it.
