religion professors

does anyone have any experience with Kelly Brown Douglas, John Rose, or Steven DeCaroli?  I'm looking for a religion professor to be on my thesis review board, but I haven't yet had the chance to take classes in the department, so I don't know anyone at all.  I'm afraid of blindly emailing and winding up with someone horrific... thoughts on any of

Ben (Lishner) absolutely loves Kelly Brown Douglas..he's taking a class with her now. I liked the readings I had to do from her book for my religion class last semester, but I've never actually met her. Never heard of the other two.

met John Rose briefly to get his signature to audit his class on Existentialism: Theatre and Philosophy. He was really lovely and very excited. Seems really bright too. I've heard amazing things about him. But I think DeCaroli does the Philosophy and Art class, which is kind of up your alley even if you're dropping the minor...

I've had multiple classes with John and Steve and have nothing but awesome to say about them. (Don't know Kelly Brown Douglas at all except for positive feedback through the grapevine.) The only thing I'm not sure about is that you want specifically a religion professor... I guess technically the religion and philosophy departments are attached, but Kelly Brown Douglas is the only one of those who is specifically a religion professor. But hey, get in touch with them and see about it, you can't wind up with anyone horrific out of those three! :D
