[She laughs and grins up at him, sitting up as she does so. The snow is caught in her hair and her clothes are wet, but Vie doesn't really care too much.]
I haven't seen snow since I was a child. I didn't realize how much I miss it until today.
That long? That sucks. It's even worse than the people I've met who've never seen it. At least they never know what they're missing. Guess that makes this snow extra awesome, then.
I know! Where I was born and raised it was cold like this, colder even. Harsh winters and so much snow, and then circumstances changed and I was off to live in a desert area.
[The heat had damn near killed her at first.]
Most there had never dreamed of it.
[Still smiling, she gets to her feet and dusts the snow off her clothes.]
I'd fail miserably at living in a desert. I'd end up hiding in a room with the AC cranked up incredibly high and refusing to come out at the risk of melting.
[Vie shrugs. In her mind, she's now capable of surviving in two very different climates. She was bothered at the time, but now she's had years to adjust.]
Months, by now. I was one of the first to arrive, I think. The staff were completely unprepared for us and the whole place was in a panic.
[Also dark. There hadn't been any torches in the barracks.]
Oh I suppose they knew we were coming, just not exactly when. They were looking for someone, a woman, when we got here. Details of who she is have been pushed aside or downright ignored.
[It's kind of frustrating, really.]
So consider that another strangeness in an already strange place.
[Huh. That's interesting, actually. Bobby hadn't known about that.]
Yeah, I've noticed that no one seems to be exactly forthcoming with any details. Or anything resembling any kind of answer at all, actually, aside from the vague and cryptic information in the note.
<3 no worries at all! mister_10_belowSeptember 8 2011, 02:24:48 UTC
Most people do, especially those in charge. Doesn't make it any more fun for those of us who have no idea what's going on, though.
[Bobby wouldn't know, actually. Which is why he's shrugging out of the cloak he'd found in the Clothier's tower and offering it to her. It's not like he really needs it, after all. He'd pretty much grabbed it only because he's used to dressing at least mildly appropriately for the cold so people won't be suspicious.
And, okay. Also because it looked cool.]
I hope so, too. But it's hard to worry too much when there's snow fun to be had.
He comes to a stop when he spots a woman lying in the snow, and tilts his head curiously at her.]
Making snow angels, or do you just love the snow as much as I do?

[Possibly literally.]
Bobby! Nice to meet you, Vie.

[At that age and experience level, it would have been the death of her.]
I take it you're new then? I've not seen you around before.

[Not that he'd actually considered Boston home for a fairly long time, but still.]
I am, actually. I've been here just over a week, I think. Have you been here long?

They weren't expecting people to come here? I thought this was supposed to be some sort of safe haven while things got put back together.
[He wasn't sure he believed that, of course, but if it was the case, you'd think the staff would be ready for arrivals.]

I trust they have their reasons for not sharing what they know, but I do find it rather unfair to leave us in the dark.
[She shrugs and rubs her arms. Lying in the snow is cold, you know.]
In time it will all come together... Or at least I hope it will.
