I now have a microphone, a computer, I've downloaded Audacity. Now I've got to choose which fic I'm bravely going to record. Seeing as I just wasted well over an hour trying to choose one, I'm thinking that's going to be the hardest part of the entire process

(I almost wish I could get a cold too, just so I can stall a bit longer. But I promised my daughter I'd attempt this this weekend so I'm stuck. lol)

I love podfic. Stargate Atlantis fandom have really taken to podficcing and I listen to them every night. But there's just about no DC podfic out there at all.

I was worried about my Aussie accent being a bit off-putting, but then I listened to some SGA fics recorded by someone with a heavy Scottish accent and realized that she's become one of my fav podfic readers so I'm not so worried now. If John Sheppard can have a Scottish accent, then Roy Harper can have an Aussie one. LOl

Ooh, Aussie accents are COOL. I guess my accent would be American? I dunno. I'm bad with accents. I think I don't have one. I think my mom doesn't have one even though I know it's a heavy Italian one because people tell me. >>;;

Podfic is awsome. This is one of my fav archives- http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/ I have heaps downloaded and listen to them all the time. I just listened to "Those Left and Those Left Behind" and "Your Cowboy Days Are Over" last night (SGA fandom) and I swear they were way better then anything the writers/producers of the show could ever come up with, even better then the the novels in the Stargate Atlantis series that I pay $20 each for over here. Some fanficers get the characters more then the creators do.

Huge fics though, Cowboys went for about 4 hours...I don't think I could read for four hours *frowns*

I'm picking a little one first. LOL
