let's talk tropes :)

I think I am not alone in having favorite tropes in fanfic or whatever media I consume. I am also extremely predictable with the kind of dynamic I choose when shipping: you generally can safely bet the characters of my favorite pairing will start by being antagonistic (or don't like each other all that much), have very different personalities and ( Read more... )

maybe! I mean, I do love the supernatural, I watch a shit ton of shows with it. and yeah, the werewolves in TW work for me! (some at least ;) ) and I love the dynamic between human nature/wolf nature and all of that. Vampires? Sometime, if I like the characters (like my girl Caroline in TVD), they can have tons of potential.

but to take a bunch of human characters, and then making a werewolf or vampire AU with them? Nah. Not interested, I never was much. If I'm reading Marvel, I'll go with superheroes or regular human AUs. With SGA I would read all AUs around, but I don't particularly remember a werewolf/vampire AU, and I suppose they exist. I say that, but I almost did write one, btw, years ago, but it never went past a vague idea (John would have been a wolf, Rodney a reluctant mage).

in short I wasn't surprised it was real down the list because when it asked werewolf AU or H/c? well duh. Werewolf AU or arranged marriage? well I'd pic the other. so here we are :)

I guess I was sort of looking at vampire/wolf AU as a general 'supernatural/urban fantasy' thing, since obviously OP only included 28 tropes. (And, like, I didn't really get the difference between 'enemies to friends to lovers' and 'rivalmancy'??? unless I'm missing something.)

John would be agood wolf.
