Car 2005, Jack/Sawyer PG-13, 308 wordsgottalovevMarch 16 2008, 02:41:07 UTC
It's late afternoon, and the day is surprisingly hot for February. It rained earlier and a faint humidity hangs in the air, a feeble hint of what will roll over the city in the months to come. Sawyer made them climb onto a streetcar on Canal Street going West for the sole reason that he felt like it. Jack followed, happy to let him lead. After a steady regime of late nights and hangovers, he doesn't feel like protesting anyway. Sawyer looks forlornly by the window of the streetcar at the houses lining the street, some still bearing the damages made years ago. New Orleans is still licking its wounds

Oh, Lou, you spoil me. This is so melancholy and so them. You know that they do have all this baggage, this sadness inside them as well as all the happier things.
I love how Jack tries to cheer Sawyer up. He understands that they've been through so much and that happiness is so rare that they have to work for it. I love seeing Jack trying to make Sawyer happy. I also loved the detail of how Sawyer's drawl has deepened during their time in New Orleans. They should stay there for a long time. This is even better than I thought it'd be, the images are beautiful.

awww, you don't know how happy you make me here. seriously. it was a pleasure to play with the boys in NO again, and I am glad the melancholic tone didn't disappoint. glad the deepened drawl worked for you, it just appeared there on the page and I liked it...
