Matt's funeral was yesterday. It was easily the worst day of my life. It hurts so much to know I'll never see him again. Almost everyone who walked into the wake said something along the lines of "I want to kick his ass." His sister told me that he was planning on going back to school. I felt strangely hopeful when she said that, like "oh good

If you'll forgive me for sounding like a pastor for a moment, death is supposed to hurt--both the one who dies and those who have to go on after. Death is the wages of sin, and when we were created, we were not created to die. I'd be more concerned if you had just been able to blow this off. We cling to what comfort we can, and we thank God when He allows us the comfort of knowing that our loved ones died in faith.

All that being said, I am sorry for your loss. I don't mean to sound didactic. If there's anything I/we can do . . .
