A long chapter today with some action. Let's call it R rated even though it's not too bad!

Hopefully this is realistic and these characters arent becoming caricatures.

Thanks for reading and please keep commenting, it really does inspire me.

CHAPTER 14

Jack was woken up on sunday morning by Ennis rubbing the back of his neck and whispering, "Come on little Otter, time to get going". Jack rubbed his eyes and wondered what time it was. As if sensing his thoughts Ennis said, "I let you lie in, but come on, dont wanna waste the day." Jack waited for Ennis to start getting dressed, saw he was wearing his normal clothes (did Ennis have any 'non-normal' clothes, Jack wondered), and put on his jeans and new tops. Ennis said "Give me a few minutes" and left Jack in the tent. He returned later with a full bag of some kind. "Out you go" Ennis hustled Jack out and Jack thought he saw Ennis grab a few things and stuff them in the bag before he stepped out the tent and zipped it up behind him.

"Follow me" Ennis said and led Jack through a quiet camp to the stables. Jack's heart sank a fraction. He'd guessed the horses might be involved as Ennis seemed to like them so much, but the idea of getting close to one still scared him but. He didnt want to say anything though as he thought Ennis might take it personally. Again it seemed as if Ennis could read his mind. "I know you're a bit afraid, aint no need to be, but if we walked it would take too long, and driving there just wouldnt work. This'll be nice, trust me." When Ennis said those words and gave Jack a serious look but with his warm eyes shining, Jack could do nothing but trust Ennis.

"This is Moonlight" Ennis said, pointing towards a giant white horse with grey specks. "She's very friendly and very strong. She'll carry us both no problem." Jack inwardly breathed a sigh of relief, Ennis wasnt going to expect him to handle a horse by himself. "Dont worry" Ennis said, "I dont expect you to do anything, you just enjoy the ride."

Ennis brought forward some kind of stool and helped Jack climb onto the horse. Then he went to the horses face and whispered just loud enough for Jack to hear, "Now then Moonlight, aint just me today. Today you're carrying someone really important to me, so you make sure you look after us both. Dont want him scared." Moonlight tossed her head gently as if she was agreeing with Ennis. Jack had to gulp back a stray sob as he heard Ennis call him important. "Right then!" Ennis said as he mounted the horse with the grace and agility of a ballet dancer. He positioned himself infront of Jack and picked up the reins. "Everybody ready?" Ennis asked. Jack nodded, then realised Ennis couldnt see him so said "Yes" in what he hoped was a strong sounding voice. Moonlight tossed her head again. "Jack, you hold on to me, OK? When you get used to it you can let go if you want. You wont fall off. Off we go then." And then with a tiny flick of his wrists Ennis got Moonlight moving forwards. Jack was pitched forwards and grabbed hold of Ennis' waist. Moonlight ambled out of the stable door and seemed to know where she was going without any help. Occasionally Jack would see Ennis make a tiny movement and the horse would turn, or slow down. Sometimes it seemed Ennis would just speak and the horse would obey.

Jack spent the first few minutes just clinging to Ennis' waist, which wasnt a bad sensation at all. He just concentrated on Ennis jeans and the way he'd bounce up and down on the horse. That relaxed Jack somehow and so he plucked up the nerve to look around and down. They had left the main bit of camp already and were heading into unknown territory for Jack. It was very pretty, lush green fields, the occasional tree, no signs of any other people for miles around. Ennis kept asking, "You ok?" And Jack kept nodding "Yes". The horse didnt seem to be going that fast but they were covering a good distance. It was actually pretty peaceful and relaxing. Not a sound, just him and Ennis, together. Ennis had been right-this was better than the quadbikes. Somehow to imagine the noisy and dirty bikes out here seemed wrong. However fast and fun they were they would spoil it. But sitting on a living breathing moving animal was much better, felt right.

"Wanna try a bit faster?" Ennis asked after a bit.

"Ok," Jack replied.

Ennis said something, and Moonlight immediately started trotting faster. Jack who had almost relaxed his grip on Ennis held on tighter as Moonlight picked up speed. Jack had no idea how fast they were going, it probably wasnt that fast as there were two of them, but it felt faster, the trees and green they were passing was a bit blurry now. Ennis checked he was ok again, and Jack said he was and they crossed a couple of fields at the quicker pace. It was pretty exhilarating, Jack was beginning to see why Ennis might love this so much. Then the ground gradually started sloping upwards so they naturally slowed down and Jack had to hold tighter to Ennis who was almost sliding back into Jack's lap. "Nearly there" Ennis said as they seemed to be reaching the top of a rise. As they reached the top Jack looked down the other side and let out a gasp. "Wow!" he exclaimed. "Easy now" Ennis said, Jack first thought he was talking to him, but then realised Ennis was instructing Moonlight as the horse began to ease down the other side of the hill. At the bottom was the second most beautiful thing Jack had ever seen, and he said "Wow" again to the most beautiful thing, which was sat infront of him.

At the bottom of the hill was a kind of valley and running through it was a wide clear perfect river. There were a few trees on either side but it was mostly bordered by grass. The river was sparkling in the sunlight, glints of water reflecting off in all directions. The surface was as smooth as glass and was just asking to be broken. Jack thought he could stare at it all day. As you looked closer, Jack noticed, you could see signs of life all around the river. Little ripples spreading from somewhere, a splash and the noise of reeds rustling and maybe ducks quacking.

"Good Girl" Ennis declared as Moonlight eased to a stop at the bottom of the hill, the river now only about ten feet away. Ennis dropped the reins and sprung off the horse. He then held out both his hands and helped Jack down.

"What do you think?" Ennis asked.

"It's perfect" Jack replied. "Can I go closer?"

"Jack you can do what you want," Ennis said fishing in the bag. "Thought you'd like to go swimming?"

Jack's eyes grew large and round. He'd thought it would be nice to just paddle in that beautiful water. "Are we allowed?"

"Course we're allowed. Dont belong to no one you can do what you want. It's safe. It's clean. No one about". Then Ennis pulled out Jack's swimming trunks form the bag and waved them at him. "Brought these incase you dont fancy goin' without!" Jack blushed then smiled and took the trunks from Ennis. The water was practically begging him, pulling him in. He glanced around, wondering where to get changed. Ennis was already half naked with his shirt and shoes off. "No one for miles around Jack" Ennis called out as he tore off his jeans. He stopped at his boxer shorts as if he'd remembered something, then went back to the bag and fished out a handful of carrots. He took them to Moonlight and started talking to her quietly as she ate them happily. Jack pulled off his sneakers and socks, then his jeans. Eased off his underwear and pulled on his swim trunks. He decided no tops and then he was ready. He looked over at Ennis who was still feeding and talking to the horse, but then looked up and jerked his head towards the water. "All yours" he said and Jack walked forwards. The grass gave way to mud which gave way to pebbles. It was a bit uncomfortable but Jack kept going. With one more step he was in the water. An inch of it not even covering his foot. He kept walking forwards. The water was cold but not badly so. Jack shuddered, but more with excitement than temperature. It was up to this knees now. Normally at a swimming pool he' just dive or jump right in, but this gradually getting deeper and deeper was very satisfying. Now his thighs were wet, then his whole bottom half was under. He savoured every step as the cool crept up his stomach. He could still feel the stones under his feet, occasionally something non-stone, soft and squidgy. The water level kept rising. He could feel it numbing his back. It was over his belly button, creeping up his ribs. Once or twice he could swear he felt something brush past him, and looking down he could see a few tiny fish. Then it all got too much and he sprung forward and dove his whole body underneath the water.

It was incredible. On the one hand not that different from a swimming pool, water was water afterall, but on the other hand so different and so much better. It just felt cleaner and softer and somehow wetter and more real. It tasted nicer, purer. Closing his eyes Jack could still tell he was in real water not an enclosed space. Opening them again he could see it stretch out disappearing in both directions. This was the magic, Jack thought, this was why it was so good-the river just went on and on. There was no keeping it in once place, it went where it wanted and lying back Jack felt he could do the same. It made you feel somehow powerful and humble all at once. Like you could do anything and go anywhere but if you did, it didnt matter.

~~~
Jack swam. Sometimes head above water to take in the pretty surroundings, sometimes under water to marvel at the bottom that wasnt tiles, trying to see the little fish as they darted out of his way. It felt amazing not to have to stop when he reached a wall, he could go on as long as he wanted. And he did. He swam for a while in one direction, turned around, swam back till he could see Ennis and the horse. Paused briefly to wave to Ennis standing in the shallows stretching, as he swam past, then kept going in that direction till he thought he'd gone far enough and came back that other way. Halfway back to where he started from Jack felt all guilty and selfish for just leaving Ennis all alone whilst he indulged himself and he quickened his pace through the water. When he saw Ennis he put his feet down and tried to hurry through the water towards him.
Jack splashed up to Ennis and threw his arms around Ennis's chest and hugged him.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh, thank you so much."
Ennis put his arms round Jack's shoulders and hugged him back. "You're like a real otter now" he said, stopping the hug for a moment to brush some of Jack's wet hair out of his eyes.
"Oh Ennis. This place is amazing. Thank you for bringing me here, thank you for letting me go swimming. Oh. Just Thank you. For everything."
Ennis smiled, put his arms back round Jack's shoulders and pivoted Jack round so that Ennis had his back to the river and Jack was looking at the bank. Then Ennis started walking backwards, into the deeper water, pulling Jack forwards with him.
"Remember our first kiss?" Ennis asked.
"Of course" Jack replied.
"Let's do it again" Ennis said. He took his arms from around Jack's shoulders, removed Jack's from his, and instead held Jack's hands and then he carried on walking back. The water came back up over their waists. Ennis lowered their hands so they were under water too. Then he let go and clamped his hands either side of Jack's face. Jack just had the wherewith all to grab a large lungful of air, and then Ennis' mouth was on his own as they fused together. Ennis prodded Jack's mouth open with his tongue, swirled it round in Jack's mouth, then pulled them both under water. As the cool water enveloped them Jack just concentrated on Ennis' mouth, keeping them sealed together. Ennis was pulling Jack's mouth onto his, Jack kept going, matching Ennis move for move, keeping them locked together at the lips. They lasted a lot longer than the first time. Jack wanted to carry on kissing Ennis underwater forever. But Ennis had run out of air and so he pulled them both back above water, and pulled away from Jack, gulping in air. As soon as they were both recovered they started kissing again. And again and again, staying above water this time. Soft kisses, deep kisses, hungry kisses, probing kisses, kisses where they both kept still, kisses where they moved their heads together to an invisible tune.
"You've got pretty good at this" Ennis said eventually during a brief pause. The next time they came together, Ennis put his hand down between their two bodies and cupped the front of Jack's bulging swimming trunks. Instinctively Jack tried to pull away but Ennis had his other hand on the back of Jack's head and held him where he was. "It's OK" Ennis said in the voice he'd used with Moonlight. "Let me please." Jack went red, wishing he knew how to stop that from always happening, but he didint move. With one hand Ennis pulled Jack's face back to his own and they started a tender kiss. The other reached underwater for Jack's hand and pulled it towards the front of Ennis boxers. Jack stepped back so there was a bigger gap between their two bodies, although they were still as close as can be at the mouth. "Need you to touch me Jack" Ennis whispered as they broke a part for a second. Jack had already felt Ennis' stiffness pressing against his own and he gingerly slid his hand down the front of Ennis' boxer shorts and touched it. Ennis let out a moan, and resumed kissing Jack. Jack stroked it a few times and Ennis started pushing his hips and thrusting it into Jack' palm. Jack stopped for a moment to pull Ennis' shorts down out of the way, and then he went back to touching it. Instead of stroking he started rubbing, in a faster and more urgent way, and the response was a deeper groan and a growl from Ennis. The kiss was faltering now as Ennis was squirming under Jack's touch and coudlnt keep their mouths together anymore. Ennis bucked some more as Jack went from rubbing to fingers curled round it, still going faster. Then Ennis pulled down Jack's trunks. The feel of water surrounding his privates made Jack stop momentarily, but as Ennis touched him down there he remembered what he was supposed to be doing and went back to pumping on Ennis' one whilst Ennis started pulling on his. "Ahhhh Jack!" Ennis gasped in a strangled voice and Jack felt warmth filtering over and through his fingers as he pulled them away. A few moments later he felt himself go and he just had time to go "Ooooh" and then he saw a smeary white trail drift away. Ennis had a faraway blissful look on his face. Jack's legs felt like jelly as he went to pull up his swimming trunks. Ennis grabbed his wrist and caught his eye. "Ok?" he asked. Jack nodded sheepishly then said in a worried voice, "I hope the ducks and fish wont mind that floating past them in their water." Ennis' laugh sent several birds into flight and an unseen animal scurrying for the shore.
~~~

Ennis' bag contained a small feast and they enjoyed it by the side of the river. Jack smiled when Ennis said the people in the kitchen were always so kind to him, always packing him generous amounts of food. They never bothered to put clothes back on. Sitting on the bank of a beautiful river, with the beautiful Ennis, both almost naked, munching on cold chicken drumsticks, apples, slices of chocolate cake, seemed like heaven to Jack. The sun was high in a clear blue sky and it was warm enough that they dried off pretty quickly. Ennis popped a can of lemonade and lay back, using his clothes as a pillow. "Just gonna take it easy for a while" he said, and he closed his eyes. Jack stared at him, again marveling at how handsome Ennis was. Jack lay down on his stomach next to Ennis. The warm rays of the sun felt good on his back. After a time Jack reached out a hand, and lay it lightly on Ennis' chest. He crooked his head and watched his hand move up and down as Ennis breathed in and out. He slowly began to stroke up and down with just his index finger. Then he changed from just stroking up and down to tracing letters with his finger. He spelt out E-N-N-I-S, then J-A-C-K. Then he wrote I-L-O-V-E-Y-O-U. "That tickles" Ennis said, as Jack looked up startled, seeing Ennis had raised his head and was squinting down at him. Jack paused but Ennis said "Dont stop, it's nice". Jack started stroking his finger up and down and Ennis closed his eyes and lay back down.

Jack was too excited to nap, so after a while, he left Ennis and headed back into the water. He waded out till it got deeper and then lay back and started floating, looking up at the sky. He felt so at peace. He wondered where he's get to if he just carried on floating forever. He supposed in one direction he might end up in the ocean, and he tried to work out which one it would be. Or he might float past some mountains, through a city maybe, or join with other rivers, or just stop and disappear underground. He'd always envied the fish and birds who could go wherever they wanted, now he was beginning to feel he could too.

Jack floated and dreamed and then Ennis appeared looming over him at his head. Jack stayed still and Ennis bent down and planted a kiss on Jack's lips. Then on his jaw, then his neck. "Mmm, this is good" Ennis said as he crouched down in the water and kissed Jack's shoulder. "It's nice to see you from this angle." Ennis clearly decided to start over as he then went back and kissed Jack's forehead, then his eyebrows and eyelids, then his nose. Lingered for a while on the lips, then down his throat and onto his chest. Ennis laid down a line of kisses all down Jack's middle to where his swimming trunks started. He stopped for a long moment then started kissing his way back up again.

"You know what we could do" Ennis said in a quiet voice. Jack shook his head numbly. "You know what might be better than hands?"

"What are you talking about Ennis?" Jack asked confused.

"What if," Ennis said, placing a hand on Jack's swimming trunks, "Instead of touching it I put it in my mouth?"

Jack was so shocked he bent at the middle and pulled himself underwater in a 'V' shape, his stomach churning. He bounced off the bottom of the river and rose to the surface scrambling to his feet.

"What?" he asked not wanting to look at Ennis' face.

"It's ok Jack" Ennis said in his beautiful soothing voice. "It's what people do" and he lent forwards and whispered a word in Jack's ear. It was a word Jack had heard before but never really known what it meant. Jack gulped nervously, the idea didnt sound at all nice to him.

"I dont know Ennis," Jack stuttered, "It sounds kinda dirty. It doesnt sound like it would be very nice, I mean......." Jack blushed furiously, said quickly and quietly, "peecomesoutofthereaswell. As well as, as well as.... the other thing". Jack blushed more and started squirming away from Ennis. "Sorry," Jack muttered. Ennis laid a hand on Jack's shoulder and said, "It's ok, lay back down". Jack lay back in the water and the coolness of it seemed to wipe away the red of embarrassment. He lay there for a few minutes, in silence, Ennis absent mindedly stroking his hair.

Then Ennis eventually said, "Jack you are so beautiful. So perfect. I really want to have sex with you again." The tips of Ennis' ears went red, but the rest of his face looked calm. Jack looked up into the beautiful brown eyes peering down at him. The eyes were so kind and caring, Jack found himself nodding and saying "ok".

"Really?" Ennis asked. Jack nodded. "We'll do it properly this time. I'll try not to hurt you and if you want me to stop, I promise I will." Jack found he had lost the power of speech. He went to stand up, but Ennis put a hand on his stomach and said, "Uh-uh, you stay on your back. I think we can make this work and I want to see you properly this time." Jack began to tremble. Still floating on his back he let Ennis propel him to shallower water. Ennis was stood up, the water level at his waist, Jack lay perpendicular to him. Ennis pushed Jack round till Jack's feet were resting on Ennis' stomach and he was pointing straight out, head to the deeper water. "Trunks off" Ennis said and Jack reached down and started easing them off, not really thinking about it, just mesmerised by Ennis and willing to do whatever he said. Ennis reached forwards and pulled Jack's trunks over his ankles and then tossed them over his shoulder. "Open your legs" Ennis murmured and as Jack opened his legs wide Ennis walked into the V shape he was creating. Everything started getting a bit hazy for Jack after that. It all sort of happened in slow motion but with some kind of desperate urgency as well. Ennis lifted Jacks leg's up and placed them on his shoulder. As his balance shifted Jack panicked slightly as his head tilted underwater, but Ennis grabbed his hips in a strong grasp and said "It's ok, I got you". Keeping a tight grip of Jack's waist Ennis then began easing himself into Jack. A tiny amount at a time he kept looking into Jack's eyes for any sign of pain or discomfort. Jack felt it going in but it didnt hurt, it was tight but seemed to fill the gap perfectly. "I'm in" Ennis said, "You ok?" Jack nodded dumbly. Ennis started moving around, pulling out a bit, pulling Jack back onto him. Jack imagined he was at the bottom of an awesome waterfall looking up at Ennis leaning over him. The waterfall was beautiful but also mighty powerful. It was pouring down onto him. For a few seconds Jack thought the force of the water might push him under, but instead it seemed to be holding him, lifting him up, sharing it's majestic grace and power with him. Over the crashing waves in his head he could hear Ennis saying "Stay with me Jack" and "Ahhh feels so good" and "Yes, yes, so good". Jack felt the waterfall empty into him, and then a sensation like floating but way way better, then pure and total bliss as a rainbow broke out from within him.

Afterwards they both scrambled and staggered out of the water and collapsed together in a heap on the grassy bank. Jack snuggled up to Ennis and Ennis drew him in closer until they were hugging tightly once more. "Ok?" Ennis asked and Jack felt so happy he wanted to cry. "Oh yes" Jack replied.

They lay together for a while letting the sun dry them, then they had to return to the water and find their discarded items of clothing. They messed around pushing and shoving gently, splashing each other and then Ennis said. "Suppose we better get going". Jack reluctantly put his clothes back on as Ennis went to talk to Moonlight. The horse had happily been munching away at grass and undergrowth all day and Jack heard Ennis say to her, "Hope you werent watching." Instead of blushing Jack just smiled. On the ride home Jack held onto Ennis, not because he had to but because he wanted to. With his cheek resting against Ennis's strong back Jack almost fell asleep, and as they eventually trotted back into camp Jack decided it had easily been the most perfect and best day of his life.
