Clubbing in NYC?

A friend of mine is coming up to NYC June 25-26 and she wants to know about the good goth nights for Friday and Saturday nights that weekend. Can anyone let me know?

And as a side note, it might be fun to share the club night info in each of our cities in a separate thread. I'd like to know what weekly, monthly, and yearly special events happen ( Read more... )

Salvation is going on that Saturday. It's about as old-school goth is this horrid EBM-heavy scene gets lately. For the past couple of years, Friday nights are mostly a howling void for goths in NYC.

Keep an eye on nycgoth. It's by no means definitive, but it's a start.

My Friday night club is on temporary hiatus, boo! I'd recommend checking out Newgothcity.com for all the goth and/or EBM listings.

I was just in NYC last month, and while Salvation and Absolution are okay for your straight-up dancing/drinking/too loud to talk to anyone kind of clubs, I attended a fabulous event which should be going on again that same weekend.

The Scarlette Parlour.

The event I went to last month was amazing! It was a sumptuous underground Gothic cabaret show, where everyone dressed to the nines, and it was so entertaining, and above all, different! It was easily the highlight of my trip, and I wish I could make it out to the next one.

My only concern is that, while their website lists it happening on June 26th, as it also does in my program from last month, I don't yet see it on the New Goth City website. So, while it's absolutely worth attending, check to make sure it's going on. But if it's not, Absolution is a short taxi ride away.

I'm not sure what happened, but from everything I've heard it's not happening. :/

But! You reminded me that there's a Dances of Vice event on June 25th - not strictly goth or anything but definitely a place one would go if one would like to dress decadently. :)

I second Salvation. You would love the Dances of Vice events too, so your style!

Also QXTs sometimes has good events ( North Jersey). I will be up there next weekend for Smack and QXTS..
