I might just make a series out of this, because there are A LOT of books/plays/etc that I have always meant to read. (Story of a reader's life, right?) We'll see.

Interesting opinion - I must admit that I've read several plays from Chekhov (lord, english version of his name confuses me;-)) and I've seen two of them and I was quite bored by all of them. The truth is I've never seen BBC version of the play, maybe it would change a thing. Perhaps I'll try it, after I'll free myself from amount of reading I need to do;-)

Names are always confusing when they're changed to make them easier to say in a different language. (That was probably why I had such difficulty with all those Russian names. LOL!)

I'd definitely urge you to try it, especially if you're used to old videotape recordings. :)

Yeah, see for yourself - I was taught about Antoni Czechow not Chekov, and in my language its pronounced totally differently:P And russian, even if close to my native language is confusing as hell.

Well, I am not - I've seen those plays live, tho I like bbc productions so I will try it anyway...but perhaps after I'll do my MA thesis research...

Awww, shucks, Antoni Chzechow sounds WAY cooler. :D And, yeah, if you already like BBC stuff, then you're more likely to enjoy it. :)
