I don't know about anybody else, but when I'm walking through the city centre, looking for some cool shit to spend my surplus cash on, in order that I can do my bit to help the country out of economic gloom, I want to do so with minimum interruption and little or no human contact

I used to feel exactly the same, then I became a mom and realized exactly how difficult it is to mind your kid and be courteous of others at the same time. I did try, but inevitably, with a two foot protrusion in front of me alternately crying, pooping, falling, and on occasion being charming, at some point I got into someone's way. Oddly enough, the only people who got really nasty with me were single 20-something girls and crotchety old people.
Most of the single folks will one day learn for themselves how hard it is to navigate a stroller, and the old people will die, so I tried not to get to upset by the assholes.
