The holidays are never really that spectacular, especially if you've lost the only people that meant anything to you. I'm not sure who you lost but I do get the sense you lost people that were important to you. What helps me during the holidays is visiting my parent's graves, though it's hardly a time full of jolly it helps keep me sane.

I visit my parent's graves as well. The holidays are not something I look forward to.

Well I've always been told going into prepared for the worst isn't exactly helpful but I can't really vouch for the other side myself. If you ever need someone to talk to or share horror stories with my ears are always open.

I proud of myself, because I actually understood that. Not that I'm dumb ... or helping that particularly case. Anyways. Sometimes I wish for things that will never happen, like having my mom back but I think what you said is a good reason to not wish for it.

I wouldn't be who I am now if I hadn't lost my mother right? And I may not be the best person in the world but I like who I am.

Close, yes. Let's say that your mother's death gave you the drive to try and stop her death somehow before it happened but since her death was the reason you went back to stop it you couldn't. Your very existence would make it so that you failed somehow.
