Attack of the Football Dad....

I take Rowan to play football at a local community centre on Tuesday evenings and, while he's not very good just yet, he does enjoy it. We travel down with his friend Isaac in his mum's car these days, as both boys were starting to really hate the quick-march across the neighbourhood from school ( Read more... )

(I am way late on my comments, sorry)

Just wanted to say that you are much nicer than I. I probably would have told that dad off. Maybe not the first time, but definitely if he said anything to my child. But then, I have been known to embarrass friends and family no end with my tirades.

I feel for you.

Mostly, make sure Rowan knows that you don't agree with him. You are still more important than someone else's dad, so if you think the dad is wrong, that should be enough for Rowan (sorry, people like that make me so mad).

(Dim problem, cariad, you lead a pretty hectic life from what I can see. *hugs*)

Mostly, I am very much afraid of confrontation - mostly because I have speech difficulties, which tend to get worse when I'm stressed out. However, if he tries it again I think Jen and I will have to say something. Rowan didn't go to football last night, as he was feeling a bit sore with growing pains, and I haven't spoken to Jen today to find out how things went.

I hope Rowan does understand that this kind of attitude is unacceptable; goodness knows Jen and I ranted enough about it in the car afterwards! *grins* Plus one of my best friends, who he addresses as 'Aunty', used to play for Cardiff Ladies before she emigrated your side of the pond.
