I love San Diego, it's one of my favorite places to visit. I'm actually becoming partial to some of the hotels that are farther away (the Westin, Grand Hyatt, etc.). I don't mind the walk, and if I'm lucky, I don't have to worry about the crowds trying to cross the street right in front of the convention center.
But, the Tin Fish is right there at the Omni, and I love eating there :D

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in 2009 and I know what you mean about not having to navigate the street crossing.
