He decided to head down to the morgue. Maybe Clarence has found something that would warrant putting up the signal.
He pushed open the heavy double doors. "Turn up anyth--?"
The question dies on his lips. An instant later, he's reaching for his gun. "Who the hell are you?"

Clarence shakes his head. "First one I've seen, sir."
Jim nods and turns to... Kestrel, was it? "Explain yourself."

She looks at the commissioner. "Died." Her hand hovers of the area of his spleen. "Will be more." If she doesn't figure out what's going on and how to stop it. Who to stop.

"Computer, recognize James Gordon. Commissioner." These words she can say because she memorized the sequence. Just in case. All she needed to add was a name and what the computer was to access. In this case, "Read File 6671-10."
"Order understood," a digitized voice says from earpiece. "Case file 6671-10 status: open. Three known homicides following the same MO. death due to blunt force trauma. Each body has a small scar consisting of three lines behind the ear. It is theorized that this a group insignia. Or the there murder's signature. Insufficient evidence to support either supposition at this point."
Kestrel nods as she listens in with her own comm, waiting to see if the man understood what she was trying to explain to him.

Once back in the morgue's main area, he nods to Kestrel. "I understand the information. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything li--" He frowns. "Anything quite like it. There is a serial killer who carves a single slash in his own flesh for every new victim. But I've never heard of him slashing anyone else's. Do you have any theories? Even longshots?"
