I know I've read some Faulkner and hated it. I don't remember what Faulkner it was I read, and the textbook that has the excerpt in it is in New Jersey. So I left it unchanged. Likewise, I'm pretty sure I've read me some Austen and some Bronte, but I can't remember which, so I left it blank. There's lots of doubt up there in those responses. When in doubt I decided to err on the "I'm probably just imagining I read this book" side of things.
I feel somewhat lame for having read (at least part of) about 20 of those, but none of them outside of an English class. Guess I should get off my butt and read something.
But, mad props Scoge, my Hum1 prof. At least half the stuff we read in that class is on the list.
