Figuring that by this time next week he's going to be overloaded with classwork and all of the unexpected details that comes with the start of term, Geoff decides on a whim to head over and visit House.

The man had, after all, offered to teach him to play the piano. And if that fell through, well...he'd brought beer. Surely that was as good an excuse as any for a visit.

Cash rushed to the door barking at the sound. House sat up, rubbing his face. He hadn't fallen asleep, but he'd been dozing. He stretched and hopped to the door assuming it was Phale, or Wilson, or both, though he didn't expect either of them.

He felt a little shock of something...nice, when he saw Geoff. "Shush," he sadi to Cash and leaned down to pick him up before he opened the doot. "Chaucer! What a surprise." He smiled at the beer. "Come in, come in."

Grinning, Geoff ruffled Cash's fur and came into the apartment. Then he cocked his head at House's slightly sleepy appearance and said ruefully, "I've come at a bad time and woken you up, haven't I? Well, hopefully the offering of beer will make up for my poor manners. I'd have called, but I don't have your number."

He stayed just a step or so inside the door, ready to leave if House admitted to it being bad timing.

"We'll have to remedy that. Beer is always welcome. I was just listening to my boy's namesake. Geoff, meet Cash. Cash, Chaucer." Cash nudges Geoff's hand. House laughs. "He's shameless. And apparently friendly."
