I've made a list of mods that I'll try out with the Sims 3 and I wanted to put them somewhere to remember them and what better place than here.

If there are any more that you would like to suggest, please do so since I'm

Also, I do hope I did this right and if you see that I didn't please let me know. I made the MOD's folder based on these Read more... )

Subfolders should be fine, I usually have a bunch :)

You may want to get the Overwatch and ErrorTrap along the other NRAAS mods you have. They catch a bunch of problems and fix them as they're happening.

Thanks for the info on the subfolders!

Overwatch and errorTrap got them in now. I've backed up my whole Sims 3 folder and should be playing it momentarily. :D I was leery of Errortrap before, I don't know why, but I re-read the instructions and it seems simple enough. Thank you.

If I download patterns do they already have a folder to go too or can I make a subfolder in the downloads folder?

Patterns in .package format? They go in the Mods/Packages folder like everything else. Just make a subfolder for them. Anything Sims3pack, if you double-click will install itself in the right place, though I often use Delphy's Sims 3 Pack multi-extracter and extract the .packages out and then place them manually in mods/packages (so I can easily remove them again).

Ok, so just to clarify for me, because I think I already made a booboo on this, .package goes into mod/package folders even if it's say default replacements for the woods in the game. Right? Because I think I put it in the downloads folder, thinking that's where they go because they're not a 'mod'.

God, I feel so silly. I read the instructions and still misplaced the files.

PS. Apparantly that mod is now in package format so I *guess* it goes in the same mods/packages now? I'm not sure since I haven't installed it in ages. D:

Thank you for letting me know. :D I was playing right now to see how I liked the NRaas downloads. I'm on the hunt now for skins and eyes because, these pudding faces got to go. Also what this I hear about sliders? What do they do exactly?

Ah sliders, well, they tend to add extra bits you can modify on a sim's face. There's an elf ear slider, for example, to make your sims ears pointy (up and back, or sideways, rotate them). Other sliders for example to change the nose septum or raise the bit under the chin. They're basically just extra CAS sliders people make that don't come with the game to expand sim making options.

Man you'll have your work cut out, there's loads of nice skintones out there (for eyes, I use my own defaults, heh). I use ephemera's faces, personally, with kanno's moonlight bodies. But there's so many good ones.

You're telling me! Holy cow. This is what I get for waiting to get on the bandwagon for two years! LOL. I picked some out already and I'll see how well I like it. I'm going to have to look up your eyes. :)

Ok, I was wondering about the elf ears that I had been seeing around! I'm going to have to get me some sliders then. I would like more unique sims.

Thank you for putting up with my 101 questions!
