so guys.

I went and saw

the MOTHERFUCKING OFFSPRING in Dallas last night. If you don't know them, they're sort of the best punk/alternative band in the history of EVER and also my favorite band since I was like... 9, 10. Seeing them live was on my proverbial "Bucket List" and now I can die happy ( Read more... )

1] The Who, 200...2? John Entwistle was still alive.

12-minute long version of Magic Bus.

Everything was ridiculously long.

One of the songs (I can't remember which one, though, wargh) had something like a 4-minute long bass solo.

oh god I went to a Tool concert and like... every song they played was more than 7 minutes long. One of them was like 20 minutes long.

But Tool songs tend to run long in the first place, don't they? I mean, the stuff I seem to have runs between five and ... fifteen minutes? The Who's songs usually run between three and six.

BASS SOLOS. IT WAS ENTWISTLE OF COURSE THERE ARE AWESOME BASS SOLOS. 8D

YEAH AND THEN THEY TOOK THEM AND MADE THEM LONGER. But yeah when I saw the Eagles they did a lot of extended songs, like an extended version of Hotel California and it was brilliant.

dkasjdlkjasdk SO DELICIOUS. And I am so jealous. Dammit why do band members have to go and DIE ON US

YOU KNOW IT'S KIND OF HARD
TO GET ALONG TODAY
OUR SUBJECT ISN'T COOL
BUT HE FAKES IT ANYWAY

(Also, best band I've seen live: Sigur Ros. They had a marching band and giant lanterns and rainbow confetti cannons.)

At the Latitude festival last summer. They were freaking amazing. Totally worth spending a weekend camping in a field. :)

I wanna see Muse live sobad. Sadly, I think they've only done concerts in Britain. And I live in Japan. :'(

Oh man, Muse live would be FANTASTICAL. But yeah, if they ever came through the states, I never heard about it. And Japan is just SOB.

1) HARRY AND THE POTTERS. <3 There was a crowd of like...thirty in a school auditorium and we had a really pathetic mosh pit with ten girls but we all sang along and were dressed in our geeky wizard outfits but it rocked. <3 They had a bubble machine and I jumped around like an idiot. I bought a t-shirt afterwards.

2) I would kill to see Weezer or The Who in concert. I dunno if David Bowie is touring but I'd kill to see him.

1. ROFL a harry potter band how awesome. XD

2. Dude, either of those would be brill. And I have no idea about Bowie. MAYBE?

1) I've got all three of their albums and some of the singles. Their early stuff is kind of really cruddy garage band quality, but it's glorius. "Save Ginny Weasley", "Save Ginnt Weasley from Dean Thomas" and "Cornelius Fudge Is An Ass" are the best.

2) TO THE INTERNET BATMAN!

oh and daft punk, even though i haven't listened to them in a while, their live shows look fucking awesome

i think my favorite show i've been to was the locust/daughters a couple years ago, i don't like them that much anymore but christ that show was insane. i got stepped/fell on a bunch

I FEEL BAD BECAUSE ASIDE FROM DAFT PUNK AND RADIOHEAD I HAVE HEARD OF NONE OF THOSE BANDS D:

FFFF well that's comparable to having beer flung on you. I've had that happen to me at like... four concerts. People with beers in their hand and they forget they have them while dancing and ahkdl;hasdhasjkdhajskhdksjd.

well see, i actually liked that part

it was mostly the bandmembers doing it

the lead singer of daughters kept walking on people and then falling over, security got pissy and tried to make him stop but he wouldn't, it was pretty funny

i saw a few bands i liked and got my ass kicked at the same time, IT WAS FUN

the most hilarious part was that the people kept on going back to get MORE BEER and ended up flinging that too.

daskdjsalkd ASSKICKING. I am not big on getting injured at concerts. /COWARD
