I've used this before. Alternatively, if you have a selection, you can use the 'new adjustment layer → selective color' method, too, which I, personally prefer as I'm more used to using that and it's easier to change dark hair to light with.

... this reminds me of when I would 'shop Trek icons. And now I kind of want to go turn someone green. aslkdjfsdk.

It is totally the laziest way. Because the other ways that might be easier involve actually learning photoshop and stuff.
