Hey, people with sites at Slashcity (lol I'm so internet 1.0)--I just noticed that I never got charged for my plan at the normal update time in February. Anyone know if anything's up? I see their billing site is currently down, but seems like they would've noticed if it's been down for 6 mos

I recommend getting online and looking up the exact details on these trains and transfer points and times. These days, most everything is available online, and maps of train stations can be very useful to know which direction to head. Print 'em out. Plan each segment step by step. When you break it down like a good little scientist does (hee!) then it's pretty approachable. The trains and Metros are punctual and repetitive. Everyone travelling in and out of Tokyo has to get to Narita Airport so it's a well-trod path, and the train itself is lovely.
All signs in major transportation areas are translated into English characters, which is a big help.

I'm a little calmer now than I was when I posted this--partly since I started looking things up thanks to your comment, so you, know, thanks. :)
I'm most looking forward to the trip from Hiroshima to Tokyo. I'm going on the bullet train with a Japanese friend/colleague, which should be both interesting views and also low-stress since he's in charge!
