Yesterday as I bicycled to work, yellow leaves swirled around me. I was wearing a sleeveless shirt and a light skirt. It was approximately 72 degrees. It did feel nice and fall-like, though, in a sort of warped way. Apparently I missed out on some genuine blustery weather. Sigh ( Read more... )

Mm, I don't know if it posted my last comment since my computer froze.. But! I was talking about Texas. Ugh. I do love it since I spent 7 years there (Lubbock isn't so bad, but then again Austin is supposedly the most liberal spot around- Jill Hutchins of the Admissions Office is said to have moved there). Anyways. When Bush was re-elected it was SO frustrating because almost everyone I knew that would have not voted for Bush didn't vote at all because they thought their vote "wouldn't matter". Argh.

Yes, the weather made me think of you all day. But, really Sue, you'll start appreciating your more southerly position come December. At least I always found some snide pleasure in saying I was going home for "Summer Vacation" the week before Winter Break. And, didn't you tell me those last few months of winter that you wished the snow would just go away? (I don't know if this helps; I just wanted to let you know that the weather made me think of our nightly trips to dinner in similar conditions.)
