I've had an earache for the past week that today has reached epic proportions.  I feel like I could cheerfully stab my own eardrum out if it would get the fluid to drain out.

Now that you have that lovely picture in your mind, there's a place up the street that does ear candling.  Have any of you had it done?  Did it help?

ear candling doesn't work, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Tried it several times.

Maybe put some hydrogen peroxide in your ear??

Web research supports your claim, but at this point I'm desperate. It's been clogged for a week. Repeat dr. visits have recommended Benadryl, but I hate taking that and haven't really gained relief from it.
That said - if you still have hydrogen peroxide in your medicine cabinet, throw it away. Studies have shown that it is more damaging to the tissue than helpful.
