Churchill only counts as a conservative when you're talking about Islamofascist hordes. Otherwise, he's a liberal (and honestly and somewhat less facetiously, the old-school UK Conservatives never really trusted the guy, since he ditched them once for the Liberals, and thought him a bit wobbly and prone to work with the Laborites, though after WWII, kind of impossible to dislodge as party leader because of his popularity with the public, until he clearly was too old to do the job).
