Who are you again?

Oct 20, 2005 10:58

So, the other day I spent like 15 minutes trying to remember the new journal name of a real life friend who’s LJ I’ve been reading for a couple of years. Frustrating! Just as I was about to call them at work I found it but it made me realize that there are others out there, especially newer folks, who I know little about.

Then I saw aparadecia make a poll ( Read more... )

I wish polls could be edited. I meant to leave a 0 kids option and ask about other journal names that people still have. But hey, this isn't social science.

I counted my cat as a child.

Normally I'm not one of those sorts of people.

well, I left you no other options. I mean, you couldn't have just ignored the question! ;)

I'm conditioned not to leave a ticky-box unticked. It's a thing.

In a fit of some sort of age dysmorphism, I think I just said I was 26. That's a filthy lie, I'm 36 and then some. Sorry for throwing off your survey.

Ooh, maybe some 36-30er will be willing to statistic-trade, like when folks were traiding Dean/Kerry votes. (That was Dean/Kerry right? Or am I totally imagining that? I have a mind like a sieve.)

I coulda counted our cats as two kids. But people who actually have kids find that sort of thing to be so tiresome. Pets do not = children. Not unless you expect them to learn to talk, go to school, and ask to borrow the car when they become teenagers, anyway.

Thought also I might mention that after a long hiatus from my lj pals' page, I'm back to reading it on a regular basis, commenting on folks' posts, and being generally social again. As this comment proves, perhaps....

cats don't ask for money. they meow almost as much as children, though, and they never learn to brush their own hair.

my fantasy is to someday have a cat that can fix its own dinner and/or do the dishes afterwards (mine included).

(my understanding is many parents also fantasize that their children will spontaneously do things like this as well.)

I can't even get my boyfriend to do dishes & cook [and it's just as well, he's way more trouble than he's worth domestically], much less child/cats.

I was lj-surfing and came across this poll. I knew I'd seen you somewhere -- we're both on the snopes feed and have a couple lj-friends in common. Anyway, I love polls and want to fill yours out, but we're not on each other's friends lists. compulsive need to fill out polls battling compulsive propriety. So can we just be friends (not that I *can't* fill out your poll, but you know, if you're not going to be able to see my lj, what's the point?)?

VIVA LA petfree!

Also, how can I be the only person with 3 kids? It's not THAT many.
