Aw, I wish I could go to that. We have so few comics for kids over here in the UK, particularly the younger ones, and most of them are disguised as picture books. I really feel for the kids who get taken along to the conventions by their comic-loving dads, there's not much there for them.

Great topic, and it's one reason I really respect the work that you, Dave, and too few others do. So many people push so desperately to prove that comics can handle serious adult topics that they forget (or actively disrespect) those that aim to do quality work for young readers. Good juvenile lit is nothing for any creator to have to apologize for or justify. It's very important, and very hard to do right.
