i think im going to build a time machine so i can go into the past to put a knife in the belly of the man who came up with the concept of money. and if other people think of it further down the timeline and think they got off scott free, they got another thing comin to em! A KNIFE IN THE BELLY!

this actually reminds me of a debate some of my friends were having regarding whether or not an increase in laws yields a decrease in freedom... excerpted below, I emboldened the relevant part.

"A few weeks ago we were watching TV (I think it was the terminator movies) and you casually mentioned that more laws always means less freedom. I said that I didn't know about that but that I would think about it and get back to you. So here's that response.

To be charitable, I'll assume that you weren't counting laws that repeal other laws. You meant, I think, laws as we normally think of them: the kinds that tell us when, how, and where we can do the things we do.

I will also assume that "an increase in freedom" means something like "an increase in the amount of available options". To see that laws don't always limit options, we only have to think about anarchy--the state of lawlessness. One might be tempted to say that anarchy means ultimate freedom, but obviously this isn't the case.

For example, in an anarchic system we can have no ( ... )
