Last saturday we had been to the
National Zoo. We walked almost the entire zoo and saw most of the animals, but the reptile section. N had wanted to go in and see them but I was not too keen on it, so we skipped that.
The primate section was not very large and I was disappointed. Two Gorillas have died in the last month and the ones that were there were sleeping. A visit to the zoo never feels complete without seeing some primates. Anyway, there was this section, which read something like ‘Gorilla Outdoor environment’. We walked twice from one end to the other trying to spot the Gorilla but we just couldn’t. On one section of the flowerbeds that lined the area, there was this beautiful flower (Passion Flower. Thanks
idahoswede). Had not seen one such flower before.
What was hilarious was, there were quite a few people standing behind me trying to figure out where I saw the Gorilla, while I was actually trying to get a good picture of this flower.
