Here are my favorite albums of 2014.

Lana Del Rey - UltraviolenceLike any good album, it took a few listens to get in to. It's much more stripped down than her previous two albums. But at one point, I realized it totally works for her. Because with LDR, it's all about her voice. Bonus points for the song Brooklyn Baby, which makes me think of

I have to check, but this might have been the first year that I didn't buy any CDs containing "new" music. I bought about 50 comedy CDs that were released this year, and a large number of Christmas CDs, and many, many reissues of stuff from the 60's and 70's, but it was never like, "ZOMG, when does than Meghan Trainor come out?"
